The only fish I can get my spouse to eat is Tilapia. I personally love most fish. I will try your salmon recipe. Now that I have a Foodi oven I can make my spouse his Tilapia and make myself salmon. I loved watching Anthony Bourdain on his travels.
This beautiful mind cuts thru all the fat (AKA lies!) of the Pinnochios that all of us are surrounded and bombarded with in our daily lives 24/7/365, especially via the zombie boxes in our homes.
I started consuming omega-3 for the heart benefits. My elevated Triglycerides dropped in half. That gave impressed me that I had a real deficiency. After taking it for over a year I noticed a decline in depression and anxiety. There is significant experimental evidence for this as well.
It is also possible to get dietary omega-3 from grass-fed beef. In more recent times, cattle are fattened on corn instead. Along with the ack of seafood, this probably accounts for the modern deficiency in the diet and the loss of all these benefits.
Unless I missed it, Table 2 of ALA, EPA, DHA selected foods doesn't list Hemp Hearts, which also have Omegas 3 & 6 -- in fact, 12 grams.
What's more, these seeds have substantial protein. By adding 3 tablespoons chia and 2 tablespoons hemp to my morning smoothies, I get 15 grams of protein that I add to my goat kefir. So in other words, I get a full meal's value of protein, with minimal animal protein.
Interesting newsletter! I, too, was a fan of Bourdain. As the granddaughter of an Escoffier Chef, I have cooked from scratch my entire life. I NEVER eat fast food. I found your comprehensive list of healthy seafood very valuable. For years, I have avoided "farmed" seafood believing the "wild, fresh caught) was healthier micro and macro nutritionally. This newsletter has me digging in to more research. Thank you. Happy cooking!
We Will try to consume more seafoods
